From ramie to sacred form
Layer by layer, ramie cloth, natural lacquer and patient handwork become a lightweight yet enduring form. Each piece brings together two traditions recognized as China’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage: Tiantai Mountain dry lacquer with ramie technique (天台山干漆夹苎) and gold-lacquer sculpture technique (金漆造像).
